We believe that the "evangelical church" today has largely absorbed the carnal and hedonistic manners of our present age. Rather than challenging the world to be Godly, the church has become increasingly worldly. Seeking to match consumer marketing techniques, the church is preaching that which appeals to the ear and soothes the conscience rather than that which convicts the heart. The simple pulpit preaching and the pure Bible teaching have been replaced by the splendor of Hollywood.
A study of the early New Testament church reveals that it gathered to be trained, not entertained. The family was not segregated; children were taught to obey their parents, and youth were challenged to be faithful soldiers of the cross. In today's age when it is often expected that youth will rebel, we have claimed the promise of Proverbs 22:6 and are experiencing its blessing.
Some would call us "old fashioned." Others would say that our music lacks the beat of the day and age in which we live. Believing true Biblical Christianity will never be outdated, we are unashamed of the fact that we are not "conformed to this world" (Romans 12:2).
Those who are willing to commit their lives to the standards of the unchanging Word of God will experience the fullness of Jesus' words: "And ye shall know the truth and the truth shall make you free" (John 8:32). If you desire this type of fellowship, we welcome you to worship with us.
